Thanks to a perfect technical skill, these life-size characters sculpted by Duane Hanson, give the illusion of human beings, sometimes attractive but also scary. This virtuosity reveals the basic worryings of the artist: the daily American life. These faces, these “daily stars”, frozen in their thoughts seem resigned in the emptiness of their life. A critical look over the American society of the 70s-90s, which is still up to date, as it makes us think of the vulnerability of our own life.
